of each nut was selected for color measurement. Kernel color (L*, chroma, and hue angle) was recorded using a handheld spectrophotometer (CM-2600d; Konica Minolta Corp., Ramsey, NJ) with a 6-mm-diameter aperture and specular light was included. Two
There are more than 150 basil species belonging to the genus Ocimum ( Javanmardi et al., 2002 ). The two most widely grown species for essential oil production are holy basil ( Ocimum sanctum L.) and sweet basil ( Ocimum basilicum L.). Basil

Shoot tip culture of Ficus benjamina L. `Variegata' produced multiple shoots on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium with 1 μm 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4-D), 1 μm napthalene acetic acid (NAA), 1 μm benzylaminopurine (BAP), l-proline at 2 mg·liter–1, and l-glutamine at 1 mg·liter–1 without previously producing callus. Multiple shoots were more profuse on one-half MS medium with 4.44 μm BAP. Single shoot of multiple shoots produced roots on one-half MS medium with NAA at 2.69 μm. Leaf culture of the plant produced profuse calli on same media without plant regeneration. Calli subcultured on one-half MS or MS media with 1.7 μm indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and 150 μm 6-(y,y-dimethylallylamino)-purine (2iP) did not induce plant regeneration.
Abstract
The anthocyanins of dogwood are quite heterogenous. Our earlier investigations on cornelian cherry, Cornus mas L. (1, 2) indicated that the anthocyanins were pelargonidin-3-galactoside, pelargonidin-3-robinobioside, cyanidin-3-galactoside, delphinidin-3-robinobioside and delphinidin-3-galactoside. Although the same cyanidin and pelargonidin glycosides were found in bunchberry (3), C. canadensis, in addition to the glucosides and rutinosides of pelargonidin and cyanidin, galactosides and glucosides were prevalent in other dogwood species (4). Pelargonidin and delphinidin glycosides were present either as minor or trace pigments. The robinoside of delphinidin has not been detected in any of these species. This communication reports the anthocyanins present in the berries and petioles of blue dogwood, C. alternifolia, and the red bark of Siberian dogwood, C. alba.
Sunn hemp, Crotalaria juncea L., is a warm-season legume that is planted before or after a vegetable cash crop to add nutrients and organic matter to the soil ( Cherr et al., 2006 , 2007 ; Mansoer et al., 1997 ; Wang et al., 2005 ). This cover
Sugar apple ( Annona squamosa L.) has been the subject of several studies in recent years as a result of its nutritional, medicinal, and pharmaceutical properties. The most important study fields are agriculture, botany, pharmacology, and chemicals
