Abstract
Leaf discs of Peperomia viridis Tre. were cultured on a Murashige and Skoog’s medium supplemented with 2 mg/liter kinetin and 1 mg/liter NAA. The addition of 100–500 mg/liter of raw ginseng powder increased shoots per explant and improved the quality of the regeneration plantlets.

Abstract
SDS-Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of seed proteins of heat-tolerant and heat-sensitive cultivars of Chinese cabbage, Brassica campestris L. (Pekinensis group), resulted in clear, reproducible protein banding patterns. The heat-tolerant cultivars and the heat-sensitive cultivars could be easily distinguished by the relative intensities of the 2 distinct bands at the 75,000 and 85,000 molecular weight regions.
