Contributor Notes

Presented at the 82nd Annual Meeting of the American Society for Horticultural Science, Blacksburg, Va., on 31 July 1985. This address is dedicated to my late graduate student and ASHS Member, Henry K. Leyna of Tanzania, who died in his sleep of unknown causes while involved in the final phases of his PhD program. His ambition was to improve food production in his native country on return to his former position. His dream was not fulfilled — but he did inspire others by his life!

Professor, Dept. of Horticulture, Univ. of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE 68583.
