Although these plants have been referred to as “insectivorous,” I prefer the word “carnivorous,” since there are small organisms other than the usual insects that fall prey to those meateaters. These include centipedes, millipedes, spiders, small frogs and tadpoles, worms, and in the case of Utricularia, even small fish.
